Snowy days and endless sickness

Last week, we got our first snowfall of the new year.  We had a light dusting when we woke up, but it really started to come down just as we were picking Miss Priss up from school.  As soon as we got home, it was playtime in the snow!!

It was the perfect snowball snow.  I had to tell her not pack the snow too tight.  She has a mean arm and she actually managed to hurt me with a few.

"What is this stuff on my snowboots?"

Little Man is a genius.  He grabbed the umbrella for the water table and used it as a snowball deflector shield.

Hubby woke up just in time to come play with us!

Me and my sweet Hubby.

We headed in to thaw out and dry off. Giant mugs of hot chocolate helped!  Our snow fun was short-lived.  Little Man woke up with a fever the next morning.  Snot, coughing, and sleepless nights followed.

The Hubs had a 4-day weekend.  We had planned on using some christmas gift cards on new clothes, hanging up some pictures in the house, and me having a day off to go to Levesden Studios for my Harry Potter tour.

Little Man was winding down with his sickness. Miss Priss woke up with a fever of 104.9, and a trip to the ER happened before the day was out.  A few more inches of snow fell.  My Harry Potter tour was cancelled due to weather.  The only thing that we planned to do that actually happened was getting some pictures up on the walls, but there was plenty of cuddling on the couch, movie watching and a mini Downton marathon.

The Hubs and I even managed to get naps while the kids were napping.  It lasted for about 3 hours.  It was awesome.  The kids didn't go to sleep until 11 that night, so that bit me in the butt.  The nap was still awesome.

I have rescheduled my Harry Potter tour.  It just so happens to fall during the first ever Wand Week!  http://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/tour/tour

Cross your fingers for me that I get to go this time!

Here I am!

Hello all.  I'm sorry I didn't give a word of warning before I disappeared.  We were in the process of finally moving out of lodging and into our new house!! And of course, when we moved, we no longer had access to the internet.  It's been a long couple of weeks.

So, on this freezing and foggy morning, I give you a quick recap.

More baking. Chocolate chip cookies for Santa.

Our sweet little tree.

On guard!

Hubby's shop had a New Year's Eve gathering, complete with sparklers and fireworks.  I like his new shop.  Almost everyone has kids, so all get-togethers are kid friendly!

Apparently, I'm a hat girl now.  I needed something to hide all the frizz.  What possessed me to chop off all my hair when I knew I was coming to a place with constant high humidity?!  Looks like dreads are still a possibility....

Ooohhhh.

Aaahhh.

Boxes, boxes and more boxes!

We are almost done unpacking, and now we just need to organize.  It would be really helpful if we could have access to our garage to get some things out of the way.  Our neighbor has been parking in front of our garage ever since the last occupants moved out.  He knows we're here, he has been told by our landlord, and he is ignoring it all.  I do not think we're as lucky in the neighbor department as we have been in the past.

Miss Priss has finally started school!!  Poor thing, she was so bored stuck here at home.  She woke up sick on New Year's Day (our second bought of sickness since we've been here), and she was recovered in just enough time to make it to her first day.  She loves it already.  I'll post a pic of her in her cute little uniform soon.

BTW, Little Man's favorite movie is Thor.  He asks to watch it every single day.  He actually throws himself on the floor and cries if we tell him "No."  And yes, I know that is not the greastest thing for a 2 year old to watch, but if it gets him to sit still while I unpack/cook/clean, I'm ok with it.  If it scared him, or if he started to beat the crap out of us with the hammer, it would be different. He loves Thor's hammer.  He got a little tool set for christmas, and he carries the hammer everywhere with him now

And he loves The Avengers, too.
